Information we may receive
When you contact us, we may receive your name, email address, organisation or project name, the content of your enquiry, and any other information you choose to include.
Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your enquiry.
How the contact form works
The contact form validates the required fields in your browser and prepares a message in your email application. The website does not send or store the information you type into the form.
If you choose to send the message, your email provider and our email provider will process and may store the resulting email under their own policies.
Technical information
When the website is hosted publicly, the hosting provider may process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect it. This may include your IP address, browser or device details, timestamps, requested URLs, referring pages and security logs.
The production hosting provider has not yet been selected. We will review this section before launch so it reflects the provider’s actual logging and retention practices.
How and why we use information
We may use personal information to respond to enquiries, understand a proposed project, take steps you request before entering a contract, operate and protect the website, maintain business records, and comply with legal obligations.
Our lawful bases may be taking steps at your request before entering a contract, our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running a secure business, and compliance with legal obligations. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the effect on your rights and interests.
International transfers
Some future hosting or email providers may process information outside the UK. Where UK law requires transfer safeguards, we will use an approved mechanism or another lawful basis for the transfer and make relevant information available on request.
How long we keep information
We normally keep an enquiry that does not become client work for up to 24 months after our last contact. We delete or anonymise it sooner when it is no longer needed.
Where information relates to a contract, payment, dispute, tax, accounting requirement or another legal obligation, we may keep the relevant record for up to six years. We delete or anonymise information earlier when it is no longer needed.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you the right to ask for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or transfer to another organisation. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent.
Some rights are subject to exemptions. To make a request, email hello@aptlane.co.uk. We may ask for information needed to confirm your identity.

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Security
We use proportionate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. No internet or email system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy when our services, providers, legal obligations or website features change. The latest version will appear on this page with a revised last-updated date.
